Happy Friday Reader!

Listen to this segment on: Spotify or Apple Podcasts

Last week I talked about earning with Rove with their new update, in an effort to complete the lesson, I wanted to share some of the unique sweet spots available to book with Rove miles.

As an aside, I'm not sponsored or trying to make an advert for Rove, the only compensation I receive is from referrals which I already disclosed I don't have the largest referral bonus that I've seen. My aim here is to highlight points opportunities you may not know about.

Rove now has more transfer partners than any other transferable currency. Here's the full list:

But here's the shorter highlight list for me:

1) Frontier - weird I know - but it is unique and you can get some good deals on flights to the Caribbean particularly, like this flight from Chicago to Cancun starting 7.5k + $64 which would cost ~$220 otherwise.

2) SAS Eurobonus - unlocks more business class flights to Europe via Copenhagen and Oslo for 60k + $5.60 one way ($100 on the way back from Europe) - Economy for 30k.

3) Lufthansa Miles & More - this one is interesting because they have promotional fares for just 88 miles one way, with high taxes to match, around $380 to $400. (Yes, only 88 not 8,800).

Business class can run between 60k - 80k and higher, but fees reach $1,000 one way. I've seen some fares on Seats.Aero with fees around $100, but I'm not yet able to verify them on Lufthansa's website because you need miles in your account to be able to search for flights.

4) Air India - Really great prices on domestic United flights. Starting as low as 3.5k one way for short haul flights and 13.5k flights to Hawaii (from Houston and Westward).

5) Japan Airlines, not unique anymore and we've talked about those sweet spots here - but still valuable!

Then, of course, there are the other airlines you'll find in common with other banks' transferable currencies, which makes Rove a good complementary points source.

Also, outside of transfer partners, you can book flights and hotels through Rove's travel portal with your Rove miles. This will typically offer a solid value, at least 1.2 cents per point (cpp), sometimes over 2 cpp!

So now you have the other side of the picture with Rove, in case you're interested in earning a little on the side. My personal strategy is to build up my Rove balance to at least 2,000 miles (the minimum transfer amount), so that if it ever makes sense, I can move them over to Lufthansa and book one of those super cheap fares.

If you're interested in signing-up for Rove, I signed up for their creator program and they've now given me an upgraded referral link where you get 750 miles when you sign-up. Again, I think I've seen some that offer ~1000+ miles out there so feel free to shop around.

Also, I've got a question unrelated to Rove:

You've got the points.
Here's the process for actually turning them into the flight you want.

Point Sales:

Purchasing points on sale is a way to access travel sweet spots at a cash discount, especially useful for those who can't earn points quickly through credit cards (those living outside of the U.S.) or those who want to fast-track specific luxury redemptions.

I recommend only purchasing points with a redemption in mind, or if you're topping off an account.
